Virtual print stacks allow you to sort multiple print jobs from various sources into one or more stacks.

All print jobs in the stack are merged into one PDF document and processed once the stack has been processed.

Multiple virtual print stacks can be run in parallel. Use the

spooling function to process virtual print stacks automatically.

 

Starting a virtual print stack

Create a new print stack with this control symbol.

The document containing the control symbol will be added directly to the new stack.

Adding more documents to a virtual print stack

This control symbol allows you to add more documents to an existing print stack.

The document containing the control symbol will be added directly to the existing stack.

You can add any number of print jobs to a stack.

Completing a virtual print stack and processing start

This control symbol allows you to complete a print stack and start its processing.

The document containing the control symbol will be added to the existing stack. Then processing will start.

 

 

Important:

The virtual stacks are mapped in the file system.

A directory is created for each stack via the following path (user’s temporary file path):

“%temp%\pdfmailer6\<printer_name>\batches\<StackName>\"

 

The documents in the stack are then temporarily stored in this directory as “PJD” files.

 

A stack name must therefore not contain any characters that are prohibited for file names in Windows.

Any stacks that are not completed and processed will not be automatically cleaned up and will remain in the file system.
