Control symbol

gotomaxx PDFMAILER (Professional version or higher) supports external print control commands, which the user can forward to gotomaxx PDFMAILER as part of a print job. The commands are inserted directly into the text or are saved in the print template. gotomaxx PDFMAILER removes the control symbols after processing so that they will no longer appear in the finished document.

Control command structure

Control commands consist of three sections @@XXWERT@@

1. Control command

The control command is two characters in length. This command begins with two command separators (@@).

2. Parameter

The command separator is followed directly by the parameter (xx) for the command.

3. End recognition

This parameter is in turn concluded by two additional command separators (@@).

Copy the control symbols into a text document, fill them with test values and print the document via gotomaxx PDFMAILER to test the function of the control symbols.

The set or transferred settings/values will be displayed under the relevant menu item after printing via PDFMAILER.

IMPORTANT:

Control symbols must always be printed in the visible area of a document.

A control symbol must not contain a line break to split it into two lines!
